INTRODUCTION

I studied at the  London Guildhall University specialising in early plucked instruments.  I lived and worked in London for six years, Budapest for five years and, just now, moved to Mallorca (Spain).   The instruments I make are relatively economical, and I offer two qualities and price ranges for all the lute models.  The difference in the two prices refers to material costs to a minor extent; mostly in the use of ebony, and a small difference in soundboard quality.  The so-called professional instruments take twice the amount of time to make as the student ones.  I can provide cases made to measure by my apprentice (see section on cases on the web-site).  If an instrument has to be sent abroad the fee is charged to the customer.  My workshop can be visited after arranging for an appointment.

With the exception of ebony wood I like to use only European woods, such as maple, cherry, pear, walnut... The very good quality spruce I use is obtained from Transylvania.  I use exclusively animal glues for all the jointing.  The manufacturing of these instruments is entirely traditional; no power tools are used.  I take pleasure in using traditional hand forged chisels, planes, knives, rasps, files and saws for all the tasks.  I believe my working style is reflected in my instruments.   My keenness in working, and the help I get from my apprentice make me catch up with my waiting list, and I am therefore able to provide orders relatively fast.
